The CTED Knowledge Assistant is the UN Secretariat’s first AI chatbot in production powered by Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Power Platform, developed by the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) in collaboration with OICT. The Assistant leverages generative AI to enhance CTED’s operational efficiency by enabling natural language Q&A, research support, and content generation. It is built on publicly available CTED content, and it required low development costs, making it an accessible and scalable solution.

Building Capacities of Law Enforcement Worldwide to Leverage the Positive Potential of Artificial Intelligence to Combat Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

The AI for Safer Children initiative aims to explore the positive potential of AI to support law enforcement agencies to prevent, detect and prosecute child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to tackle this issue through the continued development of its AI for Safer Children Global Hub – a unique, online platform where law enforcement officers can access a repository of information on 80 AI tools that are available to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The Global Hub also allows law enforcement officers to communicate with each other and learn how to implement and use AI tools responsibly within their workflow. To further distribute the Global Hub’s information and resources, the AI for Safer Children initiative is also offering free online and in-person training to advance the capacities of law enforcement agencies across the globe.

This project is developing a matchmaking system to automatically match stakeholders based on their interests, skills, and other relevant information using a content-based recommender engine, natural language processing, and collaborative filtering.
